The remaining $114.00 is kept by the resident for personal needs. Personal need items include: Depends, co-pays for medications, clothing, cigarettes, items not normally supplied by the PCH. Keep in mind that the $619 pays for room and board only which includes a bedroom, access to the rest of the home, 3 meals a day, snacks and bi monthly medical monitoring by a nurse.

CCSP Client Payment Responsibility:

Clients on the  CCSP Program pay the personal care home $619 per month (a rate established by the Georgia Department of Human Resources, Division of Aging (01/01/16), $114.00 is kept by the client as their personal needs allowance and a cost share (based on income) is collected by the Medicaid Agency to offset the amount not paid by Georgia Medicaid.

Why do CCSP clients  pay a Cost Share?

Cost Shares are used to offset the amount not paid by the Georgia Medicaid  for ALS Services. CCSP Program Care Coordinator and DFCS determines the cost share.

***For Both CCSP and SOURCE Program Clients the end result is that the client is left with $114.00 as a personal needs allowance. The rest of their funds go towards their care in the personal care home.
